Chesley & Area
The power of the North Saugeen River brought furniture makers and entrepreneurs to Chesley in 1854. In the heart of farming country and close to prime recreation destinations, Chesley is also home to early retirees, young professionals and artisans attracted to the area's comfortable pace of life and easy access to nature.
Physician Recruitment Chesley is just one of the service groups in the community that actively support the hospital and its doctors. That spirit comes alive each spring when residents of all ages walk or run the Harry Biermans Community Classic to raise thousands of dollars for hospital equipment.
Chesley is built on the craftsmanship of the furniture industry. Today, the area is home to innovative small industry, the Bruce Power nuclear generating site, and rapidly-growing wind technology and telecommunications companies. The Bluewater District School Board has its new $8 million headquarters in Chesley, while the nearby Bruce Grey Catholic school board and administration centre for Bruce County add to the large number of education, health care and administration jobs that contribute to the local economy.

Chesley has excellent hiking, cycling, kayaking and winter sports at the doorstep, and is close enough to Toronto for day trips for cultural, CME or professional sports events. Kitchener, London and Hamilton are 1½ - 2½ hours away.
